Whenever your roof is being replaced, it’s a good time to ask if a re-deck is warranted.
Why it matters: Depending on the age and type of decking used, your roof deck could be the weak link in protecting your home.
- 2 main issues —> decking that is too thin/weak and decking that has gaps of .25” or greater.
📣 Good news: If replacement is part of an insurance claim AND you have the right coverage, a re-deck could be included with the replacement.
- Your contractor needs to know how to document this properly and may need you to press the issue with your insurance carrier.
