Damage to our homes from carpenter ants can be costly.
🥊 Reality check: The best strategy is to keep the ants out.
Michael Bosco has seen this problem for years and has some helpful tips:
❗Carpenter ants are considered a wood destroying insect and need to be addressed quickly to prevent damage.
If you only do 1 thing: Trim trees and shrubs off the house. Ants use those as bridges to your home.
👀 Look for ants trailing along the eaves and soffits.
A regular maintenance pest control can prevent carpenter ants from becoming an infestation.
Hint: Prevention costs less than treatment.

P.S. I don’t have any current pest problems, but Michael walked around my house to teach me what to look for. Showed me 4 spots where my solar installers or HVAC installers drilled holes for wires, pipes and AC lines and left holes big enough for a rodent to get in! Time for a trip to Home Depot to grab supplies. 🤦♂️
